I have mentioned before how my neighborhood goes all out, no-holds-barred for every holiday, so I knew the idea of surprising a few neighbors with a goodie basket and a door bell ditch would be an instant hit on my block. After finding some ADORABLE printables, I printed them off and decided to put together a basket and boo my neighbors the next day. A couple hours later, my doorbell rang... I had been scooped!!! Someone beat me to the boo! I love my neighbors. Gosh, I wish I could pack them up and move them to Alaska.
Anyway, the next day I headed over to Target to put together my baskets. In the dollar section I found a cute felt jack o' lantern basket, Halloween barettes, glow sticks, and some cute googly-eyed Halloween stickers. I also threw in some candies, cookies, and a couple toy lighted spinning globes. I made sure to include a "You've been boo'd" flyer and a "We've been boo'd" sign.
These are the printables I used that Kim at Tom Kat Studios made. Click here to download them for yourself.
We had so much fun with this project. My toddler loved putting the baskets together and then waiting until dark and sneaking around the neighborhood. He actually sneaked! To see a little 22 month old hunch down and sneak around on his tip toes is seriously the cutest thing I have ever seen. I loved seeing the look of anticipation and excitement on his face and I just can't wait to take him trick-or-treating for the first time!We were joking about changing it up by going to the neighbor's, ringing the doorbell, waiting for them to answer, and then yelling "Boo! BOOoooooo! BOO!!!", handing them the sign saying "You've Been Boo'd", and then without another word...run away. Yeah, we are that weird. But come on, wouldn't we be a funny sight?
Have you ever boo'd someone or been boo'd? Either way, I hope you do it this year! Happy booing!
