DIY No Soliciting Sign

I have been bugged by alot of door-to-door salespeople lately. If you have have small children you know how this irritating sales tactic becomes downright vexing when they ring the doorbell at nap time!! Anyway, I couldnt find a decent looking "no soliciting" sign, so I remembered my garden markers and came up with a solution!
Supplies:

  • Large Stone
  • Acrylic Paint Pen (Elmer's Painters, black fine point. Mine is from JoAnn Fabrics- $3.99.)

Great idea. Sooo many possibilities for that stone. Grrrrr, when a solicitor wakes a sleeping baby with the doorbell :o(

Really like your welcome sign on the post and the house number. Clever idea.
Hey, I've got a rock and I've got solicitors, too! I think I'll give this one a try! Thanks for sharing!
and if that doesnt work, you can always just throw the rock at the solicitors...i think they'll get the point ;)

i LOVE that...on a rock :) great idea! come on over and link up to MMM!!
I didn't even know they made garden markers. Very clever.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my reunion/defriending facebook friends post. I see a common theme in our outlooks. Simplify and avoid the clutter of things, distractions and drama. I like a bit of drama in my decorating, not in my life. :)
Have a great week.

Nice idea! There must be something in the air with all of these people ringing our doorbells... :( Much nicer than a sign in the window.
Aloha Emily! I LOVE your rock...I guess you could say, "your rock rocks!" LOL (sorry..) You know what the problem probably is with all the unwanted door knockers? It could be the big WELCOME you have attached to the porch post. :) LOL You know in Hawaii, everyone will feel welcome. They'll all think your rock is meant for someone else. tee I've been reading over your blog and I'm impressed with your energy and creativity. You will do more than well! :) Following along now. Thanks Olivia! I got it from Kohl's with the intent to put it on my front door. It was only once I had gotten home that I realized how gynormous the letters were! So, looking around they ended up on the post and I love it! I wouldn't have it any other way! Isn't it awesome how sometimes fate has a different idea?!
That is great!!
I love it! Some of these people that go door to door are sooo annoying! They just don't give up! Your sign is perfect. Direct and to the point, yet still polite. Great job, I hope you don't mind if I steal your idea! I'm visiting with ASLS, and I hope you visit me too!

That is a clever idea! Not too obnoxious or big like you are a meanie and don't want visitors (well evidently you do because of your welcome sign lol) I love the different lettering you used, it looks awesome. And yeah, you do rock!
Wonderful idea! Its cute and gets the job done.... I like it.
