Deviantly Domesticated

I have someone I have been meaning to introduce you to...Stephanie Hillberry. I found Stephanie through a dear college friend. Stephanie has started an awesome new site and forum for us creatives and crafters....Deviantly Domesticated. Her site has taken the common link party to a new dimension! What is this new site about? Well, it all started when Stephanie traded in her "resume and suit for an apron and a blog"....
"WHEN WE HEAR THE WORD “DEVIANT,” we often think about teenagers with mohawks or couples with odd fetishes. Or we associate it with the word “devious,” which suggests something sinister or shady.
For me, however, “deviant” just means a jaunt off the well-beaten trail–a “deviation” from the normal expectations and patterns. It was, for instance, a deviation for me to quit my 9-5 career in a respectable field to stay home and bake, knit, write and create. I was, essentially, trading in my resume and suit for an apron and blog. And in the process of this transformation, I started recognizing others doing the same thing. Not exactly the same thing, of course, but deviating none the less. Like the stay-at-home mom I know who creates and sells jewelry through an online store, or the engineer who loves to bake elaborate treats for friends and family during her spare time."

Hi there! Thanks for introducing yourself! I love getting to know new followers! Welcome! I hope you enjoy what you see!
thanks for the link!
I haven't been to your actual site in a while (since I read you on Google Reader) - it looks great! Your series on the 1920s last week was impressive - I can tell you worked hard at it. Just wanted to let you know that I'll be implementing your plastic bottle watering tecnique this week while on vacation; and that your t-shirt-to-skirt is on my to-do list when I get back! Aloha!

Thanks Nadia! It was alot of work to give the site a facelift so it feels so good when people notice. You were quick to notice too...I just posted the new layout last night. I am SO glad you enjoyed the 1920s Throwback Week! I didnt get much feedback so I wasnt sure if everyone was enjoying it as much as I was. It was alot of work but worth it if you took something from it. I hope you have a wonderful vacay! Where are you going! Let me know how the projects turn out!
Thank you for the feature, Emily! I know everyone is always so focused on money as reward these days, but for me community and encouragement are also SO rewarding! And encouraging! This makes my day:) Hope yours is wonderful, too!
